Prof Andrew Coats

Prof Coats is a fully accredited Physician and Cardiologist in the United Kingdom and Australia with a clinical interest in Heart Failure. He is an academic leader and entrepreneur with three decades working in globally ranked top 50 Universities. He has published over 750 peer-reviewed full papers and has been President of Heart Failure Association.
Dr Anita Sharma
Practice Principal at Platinum Medical Centre; and Senior Lecturer, Primary Care Unit, University of Queensland
Dr Sharma is a member of the Education Committee, Royal College of General Practitioners (RACGP); co-author of the RACGP General Practice Management of type 2 diabetes handbook; and serves on the Editorial Board for Medicine Today. Dr Sharma’s professional interests include education of GP registrars, medical students and fellow GPs and development of education modules in Type 2 Diabetes, CKD, Heart Failure, Atrial Fibrillation, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Obesity, Anaemia and medico-legal matters. Cardio-metabolic diseases are her greatest passion.
Prof Carol Pollock
Renal Physician at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney; and Professor of Medicine at University of Sydney.
Prof Pollock is an academic nephrologist with over 440 publications in basic research and clinical medicine and over 32,000 citations. In 2021 she was awarded an Officer in the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to medical research, education and science, to nephrology, clinical practice and governance. This year, she is the recipient of the International Society of Nephrology Alfred Newton Richards award that recognises excellence in laboratory based research.
Prof Roger Chen

Prof Chen is the Medical Lead in the Metabolic Clinic in Mental Health at St Vincent’s Hospital, a cross-disciplinary clinical service aiming to build bridges in mental and metabolic health. He holds academic appointments as Conjoint Professor in Medicine at the University of New South Wales and is Head of the Endocrinology Stream, The Rebecca Cooper Foundation. He is Editor-in-Chief, Endocrinology Today and Senior Editor of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Case Reports
